GUITAR

At Tetlow Music Tuition, our guitar lessons cater to your goals. Beginner or advanced, our lessons cover everything from techniques to theory. With the Rockschool curriculum, we focus on contemporary styles and your favorite genres. Strumming, chords, and music theory are all covered, creating a fun and engaging environment. DRUMS

Our drum lessons designed to help you dominate the kit. Drummers are a rare breed, they keep everyone dancing and make the difference between an okay band and a phenomenal one. Guided by the Rockschool curriculum, our drum lessons will take you through all the skills that you need to become a well rounded, competent and gig ready drummer. This tuition will kick start your drumming career, and put you on the path to dominating the drums.

BASS GUITAR

At Tetlow Music, we provide bass guitar lessons for beginners to intermediate players. Our goal is to teach aspiring musicians the skills needed to play in a band. Following the Rockschool curriculum, our lessons build a solid foundation in bass guitar playing. From music theory to different playing styles, our experienced instructors offer hands-on guidance. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve, our bass guitar lessons will make you a confident musician.

Luke Tetlow - Founder & Director

Music is what I do. Since the age of 11, I knew I wanted to be a musician. Fast forward to now, and I'm a professional musician, artist and tutor.

I believe that you never stop learning music, that's what makes it so exciting. That being said I have a BA (hons) degree in Music Composition, a BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music and a GCSE in Music. Qualifications are great, but where you really learn music is on the stage playing with others!

Learning one instrument wasn't enough growing up, so I decided to learn two! Guitar and drums, oh and I also sing!

What types of music lessons do you offer?

We offer a variety of music lessons, including:- Instrumental lessons (guitar (electric and acoustic), bass guitar & drums)- Rock band performance training

What age groups do you teach?

Our music lessons are designed for secondary school students aged 11-18. We tailor our approach to suit each age group's specific learning needs and musical interests.

How do I enrol my child in music lessons?

To enrol your child in music lessons, please subscribe to your choice of program, or make an enquiry using our contact form. We will then be in touch with further details.

What are the costs of the lessons?

Our pricing varies depending on the subscription plan. Please view our subscription packages on this page or contact us directly for detailed information on available subscriptions.

How does the subscription plan work?

The subscription entitles your child to 33 lessons that are delivered over the academic year.* You pay for these lessons over 12 months. Once the 12 months has ended the subscription plan will continue, and we will be in touch to see if you would like to continue for another academic year or not. If you would like to cancel please give us at least 4 weeks written notice.

When do the lessons take place?

Lessons are conducted in the school day and are usually at a set date and time every week. Once you have enrolled onto the program we will be in touch to confirm the exact dates and times.

Where do the lessons take place?

Lessons are conducted at St Peter's Catholic School, located at Whitefields Rd, Solihull B91 3NZ. We utilise the school's music facilities, which are fully equipped for a comprehensive learning experience.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you would like to cancel your subscription please give us 4 weeks notice in writing, please email [email protected]

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

We cannot take responsibility for undelivered lessons when a tutor is available or has already arrived at the school. Unfortunately the lesson would be classed as a no show and will apply in the following circumstances:

The session/lesson is cancelled by the school/service user without adequate notice.

A pupil does not attend their lesson/s regardless of reason.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes, we offer both individual and group lessons. Group lessons are a great way for students to learn collaboratively and perform together. To sign up for a group subscription plan please view the options available on this page..

What experience and qualifications do you have?

I have over 20 years professional live performance experience as a guitarist, singer and drummer. I also have a BA (hons) degree in Music Composition, a BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music and a GCSE in Music.

Are there performance opportunities for students?

Yes, we work with the school to arrange performances for those who have signed up to our rock band sessions and rock star performance program. The concerts usually take place in the Winter and Summer, these provide students the opportunity to showcase their skills and gain performance experience in front of an audience.

Do I need to provide my own instrument?

While we encourage students to have their own instruments for practice at home, we do have a limited number of instruments available for use during lessons. For students who have specific instrument needs (i.e. left handed players or players with specific accessibility requirements), we request where possible that you bring your own instrument. Please contact us if you’re unsure or require further information.
